Senior Project Designer

Salary Range

$90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year (exempt position)

What You'll Need

  • 10+ years of residential architectural experience in an office setting.
  • Consistent work history with strong professional references.
  • Proficiency in design utilizing hand sketching, Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, and other software to skillfully communicate design solutions.
  • Advanced hand-drawing skills.
  • Familiarity with Building Codes/ ADA requirements and constructability issues. 
  • Strong communication and presentation skills are a must as well as graphic capabilities.
  • Positive attitude and a continued willingness to learn.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from an accredited school is a plus.

What You'll Do

  • Working independently 90% of the time and assigned phase related tasks by the SPD.
  • Adhere to RHA CAD/Revit Standards for Design and Production.
  • Apply RHA’s design philosophy on all projects and advocate for a high level of design.
  • Communicate effectively and frequently with SPD and other team members to resolve all project related questions.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and willing to help in multiple projects at once to meet deadlines.
  • Be able to delegate work and monitor the progress of support team members.
  • Review the contract, clearly understand the deliverables at each phase, and identify out-of-scope requests.
  • Participate in project meetings and assist the SPD with all meeting minutes, memoranda, client phone conversation recaps or other notes are distributed. 
  • Conduct meetings among team members to assess development of the project and identify problems early on.
  • Familiar with different regional architecture and aware of current design trends.
  • Capable and confident of sketching in front of clients and consultants.
  • Capable of developing architectural programs, site planning and analysis.
  • Complete Schematic Design checklist and coordinate with the SPD for completeness prior to the start of Design Development.
  • Accurately prepare floor plans, roof plans and elevations for Schematic Design milestones, while collaborating with Bob Hidey, using CAD, Photoshop, or manual (hard lined) drafting.
  • Familiar with RHA detail library and able to provide complete Design Detail References, based on approved schematic design drawings prior to Design Development phase.
  • Able to clearly explain detailing to convey design intent to peers, client, and consultants.
  • Attend framing walks with clients and provide design input throughout technical project phases.
