  • MAHOGANY- MAME- PROJECT OF THE YEAR

    Mahogany at Northwood is recognized as the firm’s first award winning project and will always be remembered. This project is the first production housing community on the West Coast to put the garage at the rear of the lot.

  • MAHOGANY- PCBC- A CLEAN SWEEP

    RHA receives four Gold Nugget Awards at the Pacific Coast Builders Conference (PCBC) for excellence in design at Mahogany, including the prestigious Project of the Year and coveted Home of the Year awards.

  • SPLENDID TAIHU- RHA EXPANDS OVERSEAS

    Splendid TaiHu becomes the firm’s first project overseas. The community of Splendid TaiHu offers western-style living through courtyard homes in one of China's most beautiful regions. Homes are grouped around courtyards, bordered by canals and paseos, with bridges connecting the community.

  • SANTA LUZ MASTER PLAN

    Handpicked by DMB Partners of Arizona, RHA collaborates with the renowned landscape architectural firm SWA to master plan Santa Luz in the rolling hills of Northern San Diego. Large circular custom home sites dot the hills overlooking a spectacular new private community and golf links.

    PERAZUL- MAME- COMMUNITY OF THE YEAR

    Perazul at Newport Coast wins Community of the Year at the MAME Awards.

    SHADY CANYON IS THE PLAN

    Selected by The Irvine Company to be apart of a team of design professionals collaborating on a new exclusive custom home community in the coastal hills of the Irvine Ranch, RHA participates in the master planning of Shady Canyon and produces the architectural design guidelines for its residential products.

  • RHA'S MAIN OFFICE MOVES TO IRVINE

    Robert Hidey Architects outgrows its Newport Beach office and moves their headquarters to Irvine.

    RHA OPENS OFFICE IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA

    Robert Hidey Architects expands its team into Northern California with an additional office in San Ramon, California.

  • MASTERS OF THE SUBURBS- RESIDENTIAL ARCHITECT MAGAZINE

    Robert Hidey graces the cover of Residential Architect magazine as one of three pioneers in the residential architecture field.

    WATERMARK- PCBC- HOME OF THE YEAR

    The "Casa California" plan at Watermark wins Home of the Year at PCBC. Luxury housing is defined and first brought to the merchant builder industry with this project. Since then, it has been used by the Santa Barbara Planning Commission as an example of how to execute Santa Barbara architecture.

    SANTA LUZ- PCBC- BEST ON THE BOARD SITE PLAN

    RHA strikes gold again at the 2001 PCBC Gold Nugget Awards as Santa Luz is honored with the Best On The Boards Site Plan.

    BRANCHING INTO ARIZONA

    Camelot Homes selects RHA as a premier architect in the master planned community of Silverleaf in Scottsdale. Since then, Robert Hidey Architects has worked on more than 30 projects in Arizona.

  • ALDEA- PCBC- BEST RESIDENTIAL SITE PLAN

    Aldea wins Best Residential Site Plan at PCBC. This project with Taylor Woodrow Homes, defined high-density detached housing and is one of the first "cluster plan" communities in the merchant builder industry.

    FIRST TRIP TO CHINA

    RHA goes on its first business trip to China.

    "When we first went to China, I was invited by a client who took me through a number of historic villages and I was really taken by the simplicity of them," says Robert Hidey.   • SHADY CANYON- PCBC- BEST RESIDENTIAL MASTER PLANNED COMMUNITY

    Shady Canyon claims Best Residential Master Planned Community at the 2003 PCBC Gold Nugget Awards. This marks the first such honor for RHA and second overall award in site plan design.

  • NAUTILUS-PCBC- BEST SINGLE FAMILY DETACHED HOME

    Nautlius wins Best Single Family Detached Home at PCBC, setting the tone for another successful year. Inspiration and imagery for the Nautilus community were borrowed from Santa Barbara's rich and authentic coastal resort homes, epitomizing the casual luxury of Southern California living.

  • CYPRESS- MAME- COMMUNITY OF THE YEAR

    An intimate enclave planned within a master-planned community at the top of Newport Coast, the 68 residences at Cypress in Pacific Ridge wins Community of the Year at the MAME Awards.

    MIRADOR- DURANGO, COLORADO

    RHA works on its first project in Colorado, Mirador at Durango. Situated on a prominent bluff in the foothills of the Colorado Rocky Mountains and overlooking downtown Durango and the Animas Valley beyond, this project provides a unique response to the comfort of attached living.

  • VERANDAH- BEST IN AMERICAN LIVING- BEST SINGLE FAMILY DETACHED HOME

    Another collaboration with Camelot homes, Verandah in Arizona wins Best Single Family Detached Home regionally and nationally at the Best in American Living Awards (BALA). It also merited in 3 other categories at BALA.

  • BEVERLY WEST- BEVERLY HILLS HIGH-RISE

    Robert Hidey Architects was selected to design the interior spaces, shared amenities, and model interiors for Beverly West, a high-rise in the lowland hills of Los Angeles for Emaar Properties. This twenty-one-story tower offers elegant materials and detailing, modern forms and a prime location on the Wilshire corridor overlooking the Los Angeles Country Club.

    RHA later became the Architect of Record.

    WORKING IN INDIA AND SYRIA

    RHA designs western-style, single-family detached homes for projects in Siliguri, India, and the Yafour Villas in Syria.

  • BURJ KHALIFA, DUBAI- NOT AFRAID OF HEIGHTS

    Emaar Properties enlisted the firm to develop the interior architecture for two penthouses in the tallest building in the world; the Burj Khalifa.

    YAS ISLAND- BACK TO THE MIDDLE EAST

    RHA is asked to design the Yas Island Clubhouse and components surrounding an exclusive new golf resort in Abu Dhabi. RHA’s ambition was to exceed the highest standards of international quality.

    Robert Hidey is inducted into Builder Magazine’s Wm. S. Marvin Hall of Fame for Design .

  • PELICAN HILL RESORT

    RHA serves as the architect for all the lodgings at Pelican Hill, Donald Bren's passion project as the Chairman and President of The Irvine Company.

    LAMBERT RANCH- 21 INDUSTRY HONORS

    After the recession of 2008, RHA produces the first luxury residential project in the Southern California area, making it a showcase for the comeback in the building industry. Lambert Ranch finalized for 21 industry awards and took the win in 10 different categories.

  • STONEBRIDGE- I SEE CHICAGO

    RHA's expertise in site plan and floor plan design came to the aid of a Chicago based firm struggling with the development of a historic site on the outskirts of town. Substituting a few large custom home sites with three new family-friendly neighborhoods proves to be the right solution.

    VILLA METRO- I LIVE TO WORK

    The New Home Company works with RHA to produce a live-work product in Valencia, California called Cielo, within the planned community of Villa Metro.

  • RANCHO MISSION VIEJO- MASTER ARCHITECT

    RHA comes out of the recession with the commission as Master Architect for a new master planned community for Rancho Mission Viejo.

    ORCHARD PARK- PODIUM PROJECT

    RHA collaborates with The New Home Company on its first podium project, Orchard Park in San Jose, California.

    "Robert Hidey- 'The Orchard Park master plan was conceptualized to help activate and encourage a walkable lifestyle for its residents. An Orchard Park owner should feel as though an entire world is available to him or her right outside their front door.' Orchard Park was recently honored with the 'Community of the Year' award at the Bay Area Building Industry Association's (BIA) 2015 Excellence in Home Building Awards." - The New Home Company

    SPEAKING IN CHINA- CENTER STAGE

    Bob is invited to deliver an address to the development community in Sanya and Haikou, China. Bob was welcomed with billboards and photo-ops.

  • MOVING DAY, AGAIN!

    RHA moves up the 405 to its new home at Park Place near Michelson and Jamboree. With easy access to the 405 and John Wayne Airport, this new office was carefully designed and built out by the RHA team.

    NORTHERN CALIFORNIA MAKES A MOVE

    The RHA team in Northern California makes a move to the upscale city of Pleasanton. We chose to relocate to the Hacienda business park in Pleasanton because it is centrally located to the majority of our projects and a short drive to any major city in the Bay area.

  • PLAYA VISTA- PCBC- PROJECT OF THE YEAR

    Asher at Playa Vista puts RHA on the map for modern living in a growing city and wins Project of the Year at PCBC. Playa Vista is the heart of ‘Silicon Beach’ and sets the tone for the new wave of contemporary architecture.

    "KB Homes and Robert Hidey Architects conceived Asher as a neighborhood of three-story contemporary homes for the environmentally conscious, discretionary buyer seeking an urban lifestyle." - Professional Builder

    WEST PALM BEACH- WORKING IN FLORIDA

    RHA embarks on a new adventure in West Palm Beach, Florida. This project opens the door for RHA to explore new architectural themes and regional styles.

    WILDER- PROFESISONAL BUILDER MAGAZINE

    RHA graces the cover of Professional Builder Magazine with the opening of Wilder.

    "Orinda, Calif., is a San Francisco suburb much sought after for its schools, small-town charm, and rural landscapes. To allay the town's concern about a new community called Wilder, Robert Hidey Architects developed five house styles based on California vernacular architecture: Classic Orinda Ranch, East Bay Arts & Crafts, Spanish Colonial Revival, Bay Area Cottage, and Adobe Ranch." - Professional Builder

  • ESTATES AT DEL SUR- PCBC- WINS PROJECT OF THE YEAR

    The Estates at Del Sur earns RHA the title of ‘Project of the Year’ at PCBC. Carved out of the lower northern slopes of one of the tallest peaks in the coastal region north of San Diego, the clusters at Black Mountain Ranch comprise approximately 59 oversized and elevated lots with panoramic canyon and mountain views and distant ocean vistas.
